January 2015 summary

Wrap-up of January 2015.

1/1 - No way to start out the new year with absolutely no snow!  This would turn out to be one of the worst winters for snow in anyones recent memory!!  No cross country skiing this year.  The field for that is rubbish.  Good place to fly the quad copter though.

1/2 - Another trip to the field in Girdwood to fly the quadcopter.   Pretty much all the field is good for at the moment.

Nice shot of me and the boys helping to fly the drone.

Renee and I looking at the art store near the Sitz.  We wouldn't let the kids in, too many breakable things.  Zach waiting patiently to go snowboarding.

Love the sun sets low over the mountains.

Having fun at the top of chair six!

Back on the hill, skiing/snowboarding with Zach

Still have the tree up.  It looks wonderful in the living room.

1/3 - Zach skiing with the DEVOS group

Cold ride on the chair lift.

Taking a break for lunch.  The kids ski hard all day and love it!!

Nice get-together with Ed and Georgia in Eagle River.  They always put a train up in their living room.  The boys enjoy going out there.

1/15 - Zach got a new guitar.

Kids Scout pack meeting focused on disabilities.

1/18 - Hardly any snow for Alaska.  Skiing is a tough thing on the lower mountain.

Kids and I had fun anyway.

We found snow and made the most of it.

1/19 -The Richardson's came down to Girdwood for a visit.  Fun afternoon.

1/21 - Zach and I took free guitar lessons at Church.  They offered them for a month.  We really did't get too far with the lessons.

1/22 - Finishing up on the floor at the condo.  The project is just about complete.

1/24 - Kids still skied every Saturday with their Devos or Mini-mite programs despite the lack of snow.

Sammy really excelled with his skiing.

Lunch at the ski school.  I always enjoy catching up and hearing about the days worth of skiing.

I love LaBodega.  Great wine/beer store within walking distance from the condo.  They fill growlers!

1/25 - Lovely day of skiing.

When the conditions are just right, and their is no sand on the sidewalk, the kids can ski to the condo.

Nothing like a sauna after a fun day of skiing.

1/29 - Meet up with Pete and Tori and crew for a fun nite of Zoo lights.

1/31 - This is how Sam gets to chair three in the morning.

He is such a cutie!!

Away they go!

I absolutely love night skiing.  This pile of man made snow was very sticky and wet.  Sam tried to ski through it and got stuck and soaked.
